What exactly does
Dust Troopers do?
Our service is two
steps. First we
treat all cloth and
fabric using
specialized vacuum
equipment which
removes 99.7% of all
dust, mites and
pathogens. Next, we
treat all areas of
the home with a
special germicidal
light that kills
99.9% of germs,
bacteria, dust
mites, viruses and
pathogens.
What is a Germicidal
Light?
Germicidal light is
also known as UV-C
light. This light
deactivates the DNA
of bacteria, viruses
and other pathogens
and thus destroys
their ability to
multiply and cause
disease. Our
specialized unit
produces a high
output of germicidal
UV-C light which is
100% natural. Our
fixtures will
provide your home,
or treated area with
a UV-C dosage in
excess of 30,000
microwatts. UV-C is
found in natural
sunlight and is the
band of ultraviolet
rays that is the
reason germs and
bacteria don’t take
over the earth. The
sun’s light is a
natural germicide,
deactivating the DNA
of bacteria,
viruses, and dust
mites to not only
destroy their
ability to reproduce
and cause disease,
but actually kill
them when they try
to replicate. Our
special light
reproduces that
exact spectrum of
the sun’s light to
be able to safely
use it in your home
to do what the sun
does outdoors: kill
germs.
What is ultraviolet
light?
Ultraviolet light is
part of the light
spectrum, which is
classified into
three wavelength
ranges:
- UV-C, from 100
nanometers (nm) to
280 nm
- UV-B, from 280 nm
to 315 nm
- UV-A, from 315 nm
to 400 nm
Is the Germicidal
light safe?
Absolutely!
Just as with any sun
light, proper
protection should be
used when handling
the light. Dust
Troopers® use
special eye and hand
wear along with
protective clothing
to be assured of
safe treatment of
your home or
business. UV-C
light has been used
effectively and
safely for more than
100 years, and is
presently used in
hospitals for
disinfecting.
What makes Dust
Troopers®
different?
Other
services out there
concentrate on just
the mattress. We
concentrate on the
entire room as one
unit for a clean
beyond clean.
Other services
simply use a light
wand and nothing
more. A UV-C light
wand is basically
worthless. To
effectively kill
germs, a UV-C light
wand has to be held
over a surface for
at least 5 minutes!
That means to
effectively kill
germs in a bed, it
would take literally
more than 8 hours,
to service a small
section at a time.
Mattress services
using UV-C light say
they can complete
the service in 5
minutes, which is
not enough time to
kill anything. Our
specialized light
literally baths the
room during
treatment, covering
everything to 99.9%
complete treatment.

How often should
the service be done?
We recommend every 6
months to maintain
healthy living. For
